ONE MISSION. ONE MESSAGE. ALL PEOPLE.

About Us

Woodlake began its journey in 1978.  It was a church plant done in partnership with the Dallas Baptist Association, the Denton Baptist Association and Royal Haven Baptist Church in Dallas.  It was the beginning of the residential boom days in Carrollton and the church got off to a great start.  Dr. Jimmy McLeod was the founding pastor followed by Dr. Harry Lewis.  Rev. Ed Ethridge was pastor throughout the 1990's until 2002.  The church during this time became, and remains, debt-free.  Woodlake entered the new millennium with the transitioning of pastors in 2002-2003.  Bro. Ed moved on to help launch the full time ministry of the North Texas Baptist Area (NTBA) and Stacy Escoe served as pastor from the beginning of 2003 until the fall of 2004.  Mark Flurry, our current pastor, came to Woodlake in March of 2005.  Woodlake began to experience new growth later that year.  In the fall of 2006 talks began with Castle Hills Baptist Church about merging with Woodlake.  Under the leadership of Steve Skinner, pastor of Castle Hills, and other key church leaders from both churches, this was accomplished on Easter Sunday 2007.  It has truly been a "God-thing"!  Woodlake is committed to being on mission with God by sharing the message of Jesus Christ with all people.

If you are looking for a warm and welcoming church family to call home, as well as a place to plug-in and serve God come join us.  We'd love to meet you!
