Lead Pastor - Mark Flurry
Mark Flurry and his wife, Melissa, arrived at Woodlake in March, 2005. He has been in full-time ministry since 1995 and has pastored churches in Texas and Louisiana. Mark is a graduate of East Texas Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and Melissa have been married for 20 years and have 3 daughters and 1 son.
Children's Minister - Laura Baskin
Laura is from Heflin, Louisiana, and a graduate from East Texas Baptist University (Marshall, Texas) in May of 2010. At ETBU she received a Bachelor of Arts in Music. She is currently a student at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth and is pursuing a Master of Music in Church Music and a Master of Arts in Theology. She served as an intern at Woodlake during the summers of 2009 and 2010. In August of 2010 the church was excited to continue her internship as our children's minister.
Missions Pastor - James Charles
Pastor James Charles and his wife Santa are originally from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. They both accepted Jesus as their Savior in 1984, were active in their home church, and enrolled at the Bluewater Bible College, on St. Thomas. Upon retirement from the government of the Virgin Islands, The Charles family relocated to Carrollton, Texas in 1994, and served at the Keller Springs Baptist Church for over 10 years. The Charles joined the Woodlake family in the Fall of 2005, as Pastor of Missions & Evangelism. Since moving to Texas, Pastor Charles has been involved in the start of 8 new congregations. [Acts 16:9-10]
Student Pastor - John Sypert
John and Suzy Sypert came to Woodlake in September, 2009. John is a graduate of East Texas Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Suzy is a local girl, graduating from R.L. Turner High School in Carrollton and Southern Methodist University. She is a 4th grade teacher in Flower Mound. They met while John was serving as an intern at Prestonwood Baptist Church and were married in May of 2008. John is currently working on his Ph.D. at Liberty Baptist Seminary in Virginia.
